“Let’s Stay Home”

In February we are in the final stretch of the season of wanting to stay in our cozy homes, with a hot spiked something, just trying to get through the dark winter months until that first glimpse of spring. Since we are finding solace in the coziness of home, we have been especially inspired by intimate interiors that are visually interesting, rich in color and pattern, and, honestly, just feel like a hug.

An idea that has been playing around in our brains this month is, “organized clutter”. We are tired of entertaining the idea of minimalism - meticulously arranged spaces with little or no ornamentation - because, for us, it’s unrealistic. We love the mementos in our homes, the random stuff, the seemingly meaningless objects. Those objects - souvenirs collected through travel, gifts received years ago, trinkets which you have no idea where they came from - those are the things that make a home feel like a home to us. They add to the coziness and visual interest we are yearning for this month.  They are a large part of what makes your home feel truly yours.

February for us has meant embracing the clutter, finding comfort in the warmth of home, and looking forward to the sunny months to come, because honestly right now, we just want to stay home.
